Dear Agony Aunt

I’m in love with the son of my dad’s enemy and we have married in secret. The problem is that my dad wants me to marry this other guy who I don’t even like! What can I do to put him off?

  1. Dear Juliet, I'm so happy that you have found someone who you are really in love with. I understand why you married him secretly because your parents would try and talk you out of it or forbid you to see him again. I think your dad just wants the best for you and when parents act like that it can come across as annoying and overprotective. If you try and speak to him about it and express how you feel, maybe he will come round! KL

  2. Why don't you write your dad a letter and tell him that you love him, but you also love your husband? Tell him that you want to have them both in your life, but you're afraid to see him again until you know that he will accept your choice. Good luck!

  3. Say how commited you are to Romeo. Your father mostly will understand because men are more laid back than women. And then your father will reason with your mother.

  4. Tell your father the truth about your feelings towards Paris, I assume that as he, as your father, will understand and stand by your side.

  5. Don't bathe for 7 days and never brush your teeth. Next time you see him, lean in to kiss him and then when he smells you, he will Flee the country. Problem solved.

  6. Don't do anything. Your father agrees with whatever decision you face to choose. Would you rather be forever unhappy with the man you do not love and make your parents happy or would you rather be forever happy with the man you feel heads over heels with? The answer is in your heart.

Relationship Status:

loves Romeo

I am Juliet, the daughter of Lord and Lady Capulet. My mother and father want me to marry their chosen suitor, Paris, but I am in love with Romeo. Romeo is the son of my father’s rival and therefore we have to keep our relationship a secret. Even after killing my cousin, Tybalt, I remain loyal to Romeo. When he is banished from Verona by the Prince, I am hopeful of our reunion and seek advice from Friar Lawrence to avoid my parents’ will. I am scared to take the potion the Friar has given me, but I believe it is worth risking my life to be with Romeo again. When I wake up in the family tomb and see Romeo dead beside me, I am distraught and see no other option but to take my own life.
