Nurse

Dear Agony Aunt

The man I work for wants his daughter to marry somebody he has chosen for her. The problem is that I know she cannot love him! Should I keep quiet and allow her to marry this man or should I stand up to my employer and tell him what I really think?

Comments

  1. Dear Nurse,

You should keep quiet and let them have a secret marriage, then tell them to run away and then tell your employer you had nothing to do with it.

  2. You should keep quiet even though Juliet is in love with Romeo the feeling could go away then what will they do? i say keep quiet.

  3. You should stop Juliet from continuing her relationship with Romeo. You should've told her that Love At First Sight is nothing but a temporary feeling. If you didn't just stand there and watch R&J date, the tragedy may not have happened.

  4. I think you should keep quiet and allow her to marry that man, as there would obviously be consequences for both you and Juliet if you disagree with Lord Capulet.

  5. follow your heart you could lose your job or your best friend it is up to you i believe you can make the right choice

  6. Stand up for Juliet! listen to her for you brought her up.

  7. Stand up for Juliet!

  8. stand up for yourself speak what you feel in inside but i would stand up for youself and juliet

  9. You should speak up! Juliet is only 13 and needs you to stand up for her! If you know in your heart that the marriage will never work then speak up.

  10. Stand up for Juliet!!! You're the only person who understands and can protect her! If you don't say anything, something really bad could happen.

Introduction

I am Juliet’s Nurse, employed by her mother and father, Lord and Lady Capulet. I discover that Juliet has fallen in love with Romeo, the son of her father’s rival. Even though I disapprove of Romeo, I keep their relationship secret and assist in their marriage. I am devastated when I find out about the death of Tybalt at the hands of Romeo. I find it very difficult to tell Juliet the sad news, but promise her I will bring Romeo to her one last time. After Romeo has left the city, I advise Juliet to move on and marry her parents’ choice, Paris. I think I have persuaded her because she agrees to go through with the marriage. Tragically, on the morning of the wedding, I find Juliet dead in her bed. I am devastated at what has happened – I have cared for her since she was born and think of her as my own daughter. It is a sad day as we prepare for Juliet’s funeral rather than her marriage.
